We continuously work with many stakeholders on a future-proof, sustainable role for technology in the city of Ghent. Combining our diverse background, knowledge, experience and skills, our approach enables us to demonstrate the opportunities and dangers of technology and help Ghent embrace the long term.

Competition and expo in Ghent similar to the expo that previously ran in Utrecht. The power of imagination was the common idea to bring this expo to Ghent. It was a first encounter for Ghent residents with their city as a post-fossil free city.

Together with the citizens of Ghent we assemble a collection of Ghent's cultural heritage. This makes it possible to show what unites the people of Ghent culturally. Afterwards, we make the collection accessible in innovative ways.

Museum of Things for People (MOTFP) was an investigation project in which we studied how Internet-of-things technology and more specific indoor positioning can help to improve interaction with the visitor during, but also after a museum visit.

SCORE is a European Interreg project in which Digipolis and the City of Ghent work together with 8 other European cities in the North Sea region on better public services. We look for shared challenges and build Open Source solutions based on Open Data.

Urban Data Birds is an internet-of-things project aimed at monitoring waterbirds, in the case of Ghent the common tern. By setting up an artificial island in the "Houtdok" where these birds can nest and rest, we created the ideal environment for automated monitoring of waterbirds.
